
BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- The LA Femme Film Festival's Founder and President Leslie LaPage announced today that the 2006 festival has selected its Celebrity Honorees and the slate of films to screen which kick off on October 5th. The festival will run from October 5th-8th. The four-day event will be held at two theatres: the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills at 8556 Wilshire Blvd. and the Wilshire Screening Room at 8670 Wilshire Blvd.
The festival includes film screenings, seminars, networking events, an awards ceremony and a benefit gala. The schedule is available at: www.lafemme.org.
LA Femme Film Festival will honor the winners of the festival competition and the accomplishments of several outstanding professional women in film and entertainment at the Awards Ceremony on October 8th at the Fine Arts Theatre.
Honorees to accept awards at the Festival's Closing Ceremony are:
-- Susan Seidelman (Director - "The Boynton Beach Bereavement Club") will
be accepting the Meritorious Achievement award.
-- Maria Conchita Alonso (Actress - "Material Girls") will be accepting
the Pioneer Award.
-- Angela Bromstead, President of NBC Universal Television Studios, will
be accepting the Executive Achievement award.
-- Laura Zalaznick, Bravo President, will be accepting the Executive
Achievement in Community Service
-- "BRAVO on the Set" - Community Outreach award.
-- Julie Davis (Director - "I Love you Don't Touch Me") will be accepting
the Rising Star in Indie Directing award.
LA Femme Film Festival is open to the general public and tickets are
available on the website www.lafemme.org or by calling (310) 441-1645.
Tickets for individual films are $10.00, seminars are $20.00 each at the
door, while a VIP pass for all events is $149.99. Full Festival VIP passes
include all screenings, after parties, seminars, the benefit Gala and the
Closing Night Awards Ceremony. Students with current ID from film school
are welcome to attend the Seminars for FREE. Single tickets available for
industry cocktail parties ($25) the benefit gala ($75) and the awards
ceremony ($35). The Festival's Gala benefits the Jonsson Cancer Center
Foundation at UCLA.
