KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Time Out! Fantasy leagues
aren't just for sports anymore. Now all who enjoy that great American
pastime of celebrity watching can indulge their guilty pleasure and
competitive spirit at http://www.TabloidFantasyLeague.com
(http://www.TABFL.com).
TABFL.com is a new celebrity tabloid fantasy league modeled a bit like
traditional sports fantasy games. TABFL "fameologists" have compiled an
extensive database of stats on approximately 2,900 of America's favorite
celebrities. The stats are gathered weekly from TABFL's "Big Four"
magazines: People, In Touch, Us Weekly and Star. Celebrities are ranked and
scored based on the number of times their photos appear in the magazines,
and members use these stats to rank, draft and manage their celebrity dream
teams and weekly game selections.
TABFL has debuted two games: FaceFecta and TabFecta. FaceFecta is a
takeoff of horse racing's "trifecta" where fans select the first three
finishers of a race in exact order. In FaceFecta players predict the celebs
who they think will grace the covers of the "Big Four" magazines each week.
Winners are eligible for prizes like iPod Nanos and Coach bags.
TABFL's second game, TabFecta, lets members test their coaching and
strategizing skills by drafting and managing their own fantasy team of
twelve celebrity "players." Points are scored each time a celebrity
"player" appears in the "Big Four," but there are also point deductions for
things like an appearance on a "worst dressed" list.
For those team managers who would be tempted to draft and play only the
more notable Brads or Angelinas, TabFecta draft rules have been designed to
even the playing field. Each team must consist of at least two actors, one
model, one musician, two men and six wildcard choices. Each week TABFL
members manage their team rosters by selecting eight of their twelve celebs
to hit the "red carpet" playing field. TabFecta's season is one month long,
but the games are played weekly as new issues of the magazines hit the
newsstands.
Team drafts, starting rosters and cover picks must be submitted by
Tuesday at midnight prior to the "Big Four" hitting newsstands or online
outlets. TABFL members can check FaceFecta results on Friday by noon and
TabFecta results on Sunday by noon (PST).
